Gather and Give Thanks
We can’t believe it either—eight months ago we hunkered down and committed to social distancing, hopeful that we would be back to normal in a matter of weeks. This Thanksgiving, we were oh so ready to put a leaf in our table and welcome everyone back with a big hug and a heaping plateful of turkey and all the trimmings. But it isn’t to be. Our gatherings are sure to be smaller, but our blessings all the more apparent. COVID 19 has certainly made us more appreciative of the time we do have with family, the joy of gathering with those we love, and the continued but often overlooked blessing of good health and positive thinking! So this year, we will set our beautiful tables, cook our favorite recipes, dine with our pods, Zoom with our squads, bow our heads and offer a blessing, raise our glasses and offer a toast: “To family, to friends, with grace and with gratitude.” Here, here.
And in our glasses this year, a new twist on an old favorite, because, well, who doesn’t need a fun new cocktail to share during a pandemic? Caramel Apple Mimosa, anyone?
Simple—take your favorite champagne glasses—At Cutlery Couture, we are partial to the coup—but flutes are fine too. Dip the rim in melted caramel and then in some cinnamon sugar -add a dash of ginger if you are feeling spicy. Fill the glass 1/3-1/2 full of apple cider and top with chilled champagne or prosecco. Garnish with a red or green apple slice—or one of each! Delicious, seasonal and fun.
From our families to yours—have a very happy Thanksgiving.
