One Hundred Years of Easterseals

For those who celebrate Easter, we hope your holiday gathering was filled with family and friends! At a time when we are so thankful to be together, we appreciate the birth of the Spring season and all that it will bring.

In the spirit of our 10th birthday, and to honor our commitment of 10 charities in 10 months, we are excited to highlight Easterseals in April. We at Cutlery Couture are of a certain age, and we remember when our parents’ outgoing mail, would include an Easterseals stamp next to the postage stamp; often an Easter Lily, as a way to show support for children with disabilities. Founded in 1919, as the National Society for Crippled Children, Easterseals has been at the forefront of serving people with disabilities for more than 100 years, and currently provides essential services and on-the-ground supports to more than 1.5 million individuals and families each year through its national network of affiliates in communities nationwide. Easterseals offers home and community-based services that enrich education, enhance health, expand educational opportunities and encourage community. They have extended their reach to include not just children, but adults, senior citizens, veterans and others facing disabilities and challenges with a goal of empowering everyone.

We are pleased to “Give Back” to Easterseals this month and urge you to find out more about this charity at www.easterseals.com, and if you are one of the 19 million households that receive a mailing of easter seals—paste them—and pass them on!
